Homeschool Families "Extending the Experience"
The Crayola FACTORY and National Canal Museum are open year–round for educational opportunities in the field of art, science and history. We’ve designated February and September as homeschool friendly months, due to lower attendance of school groups. When you’re here, ask about our "Extending the Experience" packet we created just for you. This packet includes educational and fun activities to do with your family while here and at home. Ask about a discount for Homeschool Month.

Family Workshops
Saturday Morning Workshops
The Crayola FACTORY is offering Saturday Morning Workshops from 10 - 11:30 a.m. once a month through May for children ages 6 and older as well as adults. Workshop fee is $12 per project and includes all materials. Admission to The Crayola FACTORY is not included in these workshops. Upcoming 2009 dates and projects include:
November 7- Create a Memories Notebook using Crayola Memory pages and a variety of art materials.
November 21- Create a Faux Gingerbread House using Crayola products and a variety of art materials
December 12-Festive Holiday Nutcrackers- paint a wooden holiday nutcracker to display at home or to give as a special present
December 19-Create a Faux Gingerbread House using Crayola products and a varitety of art materials
Upcoming 2010 dates and projects include:
February 13- Make a Valentine Gift: Paint and decorate a wooden box to give as a special Valentine gift.
March 13- Personalize five cork board shapes to give as a unique gift or to hang at home.
April 17- The little Piggy Bank is Fun: Make saving enjoyable with this brilliantly painted and decorated piggy bank.
May 8- Mother's Day Gift Mobiles: Paint a colorful butterfly mobile for Mom on her special day.
June 19- Make a snack tray for Father's Day: Decorate a snack tray for Dad to use when watching his favorite TV shows.
September 11- Fond Memories Granparent's Gift: Bring your photos and make a colorful memory book for your Grandparents.
October 16- Create a Happy or Spooky Halloween House: Decorate a halloween house using a variety of Crayola art materials.
November 13- Create a Faux Gingerbread House using Crayola products and a variety of art materials.
December 4- Festive Holiday Ornament: Paint wooden ornaments to decorate at home or to give as a gift.
December 11- Create a Faux Gingerbread House using Crayola products and a variety of art materials.
